Jiu Jitsu girl plays World championship in Abu Dhabi

The effervescent Rana Al Qubaj marches to the battle of the champions. The 2012 World Championship held in Abu Dhabi 12 – 14 April brings together over 45 countries competing for the Gold! Sponsored and supported by Arab Orient Insurance Company in Jordan, Rana Al Qubaj rides the way to stardom. 

“This is a man’s world, but it would be nothing without a woman”. True to James Brown’s famous song Rana Al Qubaj shines again as she takes on the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu Jitsu championship for 2012.

First Arab woman to win a medal in a major BJJ tournament and gold medal winner in the European Open IBJJF Championship for 2012 in Portugal, Rana Al Qubaj known as “Jiu Jitsu girl” carries her Jordanian martial art spirit around the world and paves her future into glory.

Rana, a dedicated rising athlete and student at “The Source MMAS (Mixed Martial Art School) in Al- Rabieh, Amman, spends an average of 15 hours of training a week between BJJ, Judo, fitness and functional training. “We at “The Source” want to spread awareness of healthy being and safe guarding amongst the youth through our accomplishments. We dedicate this step and initiative towards this global gathering for our beloved country; Jordan” Rana says with a promising spark in her eyes.
