 Summer is here and the tourism season is in full bloom. It is time again to see the fancy signs proclaiming: “Jordan is prettier” (Al Urdun A7la). These signs are here and there, often featuring images of historic sites or smiling Jordanians (!).My problem with the “Jordan is Prettier” advertisement is that it presents the question: Jordan is prettier… than what? The 7 hills of Amman and the city’s reputation as a quiet place to raise a family have changed dramatically in the past few years and no clearer indication of this change, than the city’s traffic. Summer is here and the tourism season is in full bloom. It is time again to see the fancy signs proclaiming: “Jordan is prettier” (Al Urdun A7la). These signs are here and there, often featuring images of historic sites or smiling Jordanians (!).

My problem with the “Jordan is Prettier” advertisement is that it presents the question: Jordan is prettier… than what? Is the advertisement afraid to name names lest there be a case to answer to?…

الطلب على العقار 2013

رغم ارتفاع أسعار الشقق وتدني القدرة الشرائية للمواطنين نتيجة المصاعب الاقتصادية التي يمر بها الأردن، غير أن هنالك زيادة في الطلب على العقارات عن المعدل الطبيعي (الأعوام السابقة)، فقد ارتفع حجم التداول في سوق العقار المحلية خلال الثلث الأول من 2013 بنسبة 40 بالمئة مقارنة بالفترة ذاتها من العام 2012؛ وارتفع حجم التداول في سوق العقار خلال شهر نيسان فقط من العام الحالي بنسبة 46 بالمئة مقارنة بالشهر نفسه من العام 2012؛ ليبلغ 584 مليون دينار تقريباً، وبارتفاع بلغت نسبته 65 بالمئة مقارنةً بشهر نيسان…See More
