Driving in Amman
The 7 hills of Amman and the city’s reputation as a quiet place to raise a family have changed dramatically in the past few years and no clearer indication of this change, than the city’s traffic. We once had the pleasure to drive around to run errands, reach our destination within a reasonable time, park, take care of business and have few hours of day light left to do what life demanded of us.

Summer is here and the tourism season is in full bloom. It is time again to see the fancy signs proclaiming: “Jordan is prettier” (Al Urdun A7la). These signs are here and there, often featuring images of historic sites or smiling Jordanians (!).
My problem with the “Jordan is Prettier” advertisement is that it presents the question: Jordan is prettier… than what? Is the advertisement afraid to name names lest there be a case to answer to?…
